Xenical is the most clinically researched anti-obesity medication in history, with more than seven clinical trials involving over 7000 patients worldwide. The clinical test results have been both significant and encouraging. Patients who have taken Xenical have achieved considerable long-term weight loss and have made great improvement in other areas of health risk, including coronary heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes... Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of Xenical is its safety. It works only in your digestive system, not on your brain like many appetite suppressers - so you can feel safe knowing that Xenical is working to reduce your weight without any other potentially dangerous side effects. In clinical studies, patients taking Xenical lost significantly more weight - nearly twice as much - as those on diet alone. Patients in clinical studies also: Maintained their weight loss better than those on diet alone
A popular weight-loss myth is that everyone who loses weight eventually gains it back. But, it ain't necessarily so, according to researchers at Brown Medical School (USA). They've developed a research study known as the National Weight Control Registry. Their goal: to deflate that myth. Tucked away in the registry's database is information about the weight-control behaviors of more than 3,000 American adults who have lost an average of 60 pounds and have kept it off for an average of six years. How do they do it?These successful losers report four common behaviors, say the Brown researchers. They eat a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet; they monitor themselves by weighing in frequently; they are very physically active; and they eat breakfast. Now, eating breakfast every day is contrary to the typical pattern for the average overweight person who is trying to diet. Many people get up in the morning and say 'I'm going to start my diet today', and they eat little or no breakfast and a light lunch. Then they get hungry and consume most of their calories late in the day. Successful weight losers have managed to change this pattern. Six years after their weight loss, most of the registry's successful losers still report eating a low-calorie, low-fat diet, with about 24 percent of calories from fat. (The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend no more than 30 percent of daily calories from fat.) They also exercise for about an hour or more a day, expending about 2,800 calories per week on a variety of activities. The makers of Xenical endorse these behaviours. Use, don't abuseNever forget that Xenical is a drug, and that there are strict guidelines for using it effectively and safely. Please remember: The recommended dose of Xenical is one 120-mg capsule three times a day with each main meal containing fat (during or up to 1 hour after the meal). You should be on a nutritionally balanced, reduced-calorie diet that contains approximately 30% of calories from fat. The daily intake of fat, carbohydrate, and protein should be distributed over three main meals. If a meal is occasionally missed or contains no fat, you don't need to take a dose of Xenical. Because Xenical has been shown to reduce the absorption of some fat-soluble vitamins and beta-carotene, it is advisable to take a multivitamin containing fat-soluble vitamins to ensure adequate nutrition. The supplement should be taken at least 2 hours before or after the administration of Xenical, such as at bedtime. Doses above 120 mg three times a day have not been shown to provide additional benefit. Usually, the effect of Xenical is seen 24 to 48 hours after taking it. Your body's fat content usually returns to pre-treatment levels within 48 to 72 hours. Xenical Clinical Trials : |
