Obestat capsules are sibutramine hydrochloride. Obestat is made in India. Even though it contains the exact same chemical as Reductil / Meridia its cost is significantly less than that of Reductil / Meridia.

Meridia causes mood changes a little like Prozac. Now Prozac takes about 3 weeks to make a change. It works by blocking the re-uptake of seritonin, a brain chemical, and that explains the difficulty sleeping. I figure if I'm not asleep, I'm burning more calories!

I have taken Meridia about 2 years ago and lost 24 pounds. When I took it, I felt 100% better all around. It is also important to take a multivitamin with daily excercise and a 1200 calorie intake diet. Carbs are another bad thing. My mom took Meridia and it made her feel awful. She was just plain mean and tired and she had a high heart rate. So, all in all, it just depends on the person and their lifestyle. Some people think that you can just take a diet pill, be it over the counter or prescription and do no excercise... and it just doesnt work anyway. It takes work and effort. Just thought I would add my thoughts, Meridia is not bad to some people, it did wonders for my self esteem.
